Before 1218, Margaret founded an Augustinian convent in memory of her parents and brother on land donated by King John at Aconbury in Herefordshire, near the village of Holme Lacy. The only remains are the Priory Church, which is now disused and locked (right).

Married to Walter de Lacy, Lord of Meath (1172-1241) in 1200 (This date is implied by a charter of King John to William de Braose of 19th October 1200 in Rotuli Chartarum p80)
